Tournament Coordinator

Working closely with the Board, Division Coordinators, Concession Coordinator, Field Scheduler, Umpire in Chief, Equipment Manager and Volunteer Coordinator, the Tournaments Coordinator is responsible for the overall organization and management of all tournaments hosted by NWBA each season.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing all communications with participating teams (invitations, rules, details, final schedule, schedule changes, standings/scores, etc.).
  • Coordinate with the Board and Division Coordinators to create all tournament schedules.
  • Working with the Scheduler to ensure fields are appropriately allocated.
  • Working with the Umpire in Chief to ensure umpires are scheduled for each game, and paid accordingly.
  • Working with the Equipment Manager to ensure the necessary equipment is available at all tournaments.
  • Working with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, organize, and track hours for parent volunteers for each tournament.
  • Working with the Concession Coordinator to ensure all permits are in place for food vendors and the concession is stocked and open for all tournaments.
  • Acquiring all necessary medals/trophies for distribution at tournaments.
  • Coordinating any pre/postā€game ceremonies.
  • Keeping official records of all games played, which includes ensuring that all scoresheets and innings pitched logs are received at the end of each game.
  • Coordinating the Home Run Derby which takes place during the Majors Hyack Tournament.
